Thanks to Home Depot for donating the boxes for collection!

More sorting!
I wish there were more pictures to be able to share just how much stuff we received, but we were more concerned about getting things delivered to those who needed them. These pictures do not do justice for the amount of items we received as this is just a portion. It was so moving and those who donated will never know how much it was appreciated by everyone.
I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and concern for Union University during the recent tornado. Your phone calls, visits, emails, and texts have given me much encouragement and provided constant support.
The Double Tree Hotel partnered with the Upsilon Chapter of Chi Omega at Union University, and collected coats for the students who were unable to retrieve personal belongings due to the signficant damage to their dorm rooms (a big thank you to Beth Hill for doing this on behalf of the Double Tree). Several Chi Omega chapters and individuals across the state sent coats. I am so grateful to each of you who assisted me in collecting coats, jackets, and other personal items for those students. There have been so many individuals who have volunteered from immediately following the storm assisting with helping students out of the rubble to providing shelter, food, and clothing. The volunteering continues as the needs change. People have overwhelmingly responded around the clock with love and compassion. I would never have chosen for this to happen to my campus, but how inspiring it is to see my platform of volunteerism lived out before my eyes.
To view pictures and video of the damage to our campus and the Jackson area, click on The Jackson Sun below to link to their website. The Union University website also has lots of information and pictures (click the Union logo to the right for a link to their website).
On a more personal note, the damage to my dorm room is shown in the pictures below. I was not able to recover most of my personal belongings(thankfully I have insurance, while some of my peers are not so fortunate.)
In closing but most importantly, I am so grateful that all of my fellow students are safe. Please pray for us as we continue to recover physically and emotionally.
Thank you.
